Wonderbrett is a resin by Starco, that is available in 2 different strengths. The main ingredient is Sativa based marijuana, and the other is Indica based. The Indica is a heavy resin, with a very rich smell, that requires a very light heat to vaporize. The Sativa is a very thick resin, with a sweet smell, and a very heavy yield from a gram of material. You can even use a lot of this resin, and no need for a lot of heat, even on a 150w vaporizer.

On a road trip in late 2020, I was driving through Redding, California on a 12-hour drive back to Seattle, and I needed something flammable and cheap. I decided to stop by Vibe by California to see what they had in store for the boy and, oh wonder, I found an absolute gem: Vanderbrett’s pink Picasso. Wonderbrett is a California-based cannabis producer and lifestyle brand founded by experienced growers Brett Feldman and Cameron Damwick. The Wonderbrett brand has been around since 2014, but the duo made a name for themselves in LA’s street and music culture in the mid-’90s, long before pretty pink packaging popped up on drugstore shelves and Instagram slideshows. Pink Picasso was one of the most perfect colors I’ve ever seen in my life – an herb that unmistakably combines flavor, potency, and experience in a way that reminds you why you started smoking weed in the first place. I knew immediately that I had something special in my hands. I recently sat down with Brett Feldman to tour Wonderbrett’s 180,000 square foot indoor facility in Long Beach, smoke some strains and talk about Wonderbrett’s legacy and the strains that created his place in modern cannabis culture.

1997: OG Kush

In 1997, Brett Feldman got a piece of the OG Kush. A species so rare, so special, so powerful that Feldman himself felt he had been given a gift from God. He told me that before Kush hit the market, consumers were looking for high quality cannabis and strains like Skunk, Northern Lights, Trainwreck, California Orange, Hazes and Chocolate Thai. But when did OG Kush come out? The game is up. OG Kush appeared on the scene and took over. No competition, it was like Jordan was on stage playing with kids. Because OG Kush is so rare, Feldman spent his time traveling back and forth to the San Francisco Bay Area to obtain authentic batches of the plant from the original breeder, Josh D, and his team, with Feldman cleaning his harvest on each trip. Eventually, at the request of others, Josh D’s people said Feldman: Hey, man, we can’t keep giving you all our supplies. Instead of blowing him off, Josh D gave him clones of the original Kush plants and told him to be awesome. That’s exactly what he did. In 1997 I started growing cannabis for good. When I had Kush. I had to figure out how to grow grass right away without killing the plants. I had a big responsibility in protecting and spreading this variety of Kush because she was so special. I wasn’t particularly religious, but I felt God was showing me the way. And I said: I hear you, I see what you want me to do. Brett Feldman, co-founder of Wonderbrett, smokes a joint in front of the Wonderbrett packaging display at Black Star Studios in Studio City. (Image source: Wonderboard) The OG Kush was so in demand that Feldman parted ways with Xzibit, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Eminem and B-Real for that reason. His culture gave him access to the behind-the-scenes of the Los Angeles hip-hop scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s, including the rise of Dr. Dre in 2001. It all started when I took a chance and showed up at Xzibit’s in [Tower Records in Granada Hills]. Usually it was something like: Hey kid, call me, I’d love to help you get some really good weed. I have a piece of fire… Eventually he called me up and invited me to do a music video. I brought them a piece I had just collected. They all loved it. So I was introduced to the public as the legendary weed dealer. I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. I was always the guy in the studio asking for the good stuff: Who has Brett? And just like that, the legend of Brett, or as Xzibit liked to call him: Brett was born a super white man. It was eventually shortened to Brett, which then became Vanderbrett.

2000s: Net Kush

Since the 1990s, Fellman says, buyer demand has focused on Kush. A clean slate. The real OG Kush cup was also called Pure Kush. That’s because before [OG Kush] came on the scene here, there was Kush Bubba. They had to have that original distinction of the Kush, the Kush that made the Kush Bubba. Pure Kush, before it was crossed with anything.

2014: Pineapple OG

In 2014, Wonderbrett released its first signature species: Pineapple OG. The logo represented a dripping pineapple. It came out at a time when smokers were more interested in different flavors and varieties of weed. There were a lot of people growing OG Kush back then and calling it by different names. Then the cookies came on the scene. The Sin Mint Cookies variant has really opened a lot of doors for people who want to finally try new flavors. At this point the pineapple is laid out, followed by the strawberries, clementine and orange-banana.

2018: Rose Picasso

Wonderbrett crossed Candyland x OZK in 2013, but didn’t discover the Pink Picasso phenotype until 2017. As we germinated these seeds, we were curious to see what we would create. We released a lemon OPC, Candyland. She was not named Pink Picasso because we had not yet found a phenotype that spoke for itself: Wow, this variety is crazy. We knew immediately that it would be a success. After the discovery of Pink Picasso, Wonderbrett closed for a short time to move from the medical market to the adult market in California. The 27th. October 2018, when Melrose Cookies opened, Wonderbrett then relaunched their brand and finally brought Pink Picasso to the masses. It was a historic moment for us to re-launch our brand in this store and on this day. It was a very strong signal for B-Real and Berner: Yo, we’re opening a store, we want your product here.

2021: Chomp

Today, Wonderbrett’s reputation is associated with its flagship strains and flavors such as Orange Sunset, Pink Picasso, OZK, Grapes of Wrath – the list goes on and on. They have also released collaborations like Pineapple OZK with B-Real and their latest work: Munich with Russ. Still, it’s about installation and working with people that Feldman loves. This is not a big marketing stunt to make a lot of money. In the first four months [of 2021] we released Chomp [with Russ], Pineapple OZK with B-Real, and next month we’re releasing the Peaches variety. We constantly strive for innovation and taste in the menu and in the way we inspire people. We continue to grow and try to build relationships with our customers by offering more and more flavors. Graph Britt Rivas/WidmapsWonderbrett’s strains were bred in Dutch coffee shops to be as potent and deliciously sweet as possible while still being safe to consume. Like other Dutch breeders, Wonderbrett is motivated by the strict cannabis laws in the Netherlands, which place heavy restrictions on breeding and selling cannabis. An average high-quality Dutch strain can earn growers up to 5,000 euros per kilo, but Wonderbrett strains are far more valuable, earning growers up to 70,000 euros per kilo, due to their larger flowers.. Frequently Asked Questions

What strain is Wonderbrett?

I have it. I have it. I have it. The strain that makes Wonderbrett is a resinous blend of SFV OG and Strawberry Diesel, that produces a rich heady aroma with a noticeable strawberry presence. The taste is surprisingly intense, and very strong for a sativa, which makes for a pleasant smoke that leaves you feeling uplifted and relaxed. The effects are all-encompassing and long-lasting, with a highly pleasurable body high that leaves you eagerly awaiting the next hit. In April I made a trip to the Pacific Northwest to visit the Wonderbrett crew. We were impressed with the amazing crops they had that year, and the quality of their strains. As a result, we decided to feature them on the Highyields blog. You can read the full review of their strains here: http://highyields.com/blog/review-wonderbrett-strains-2015/

Who made Wonderbrett?

Wonderbrett is the brainchild of two friends from British Columbia, Canada. They were tired of the over-saturation of the cannabis market with the same old flavorless strains, so they set out to create an exciting new strain to wake up the cannabis community. Wonderbrett is a sativa-dominant hybrid that helps you get rid of those unwanted pounds with its focus on appetite suppression. Cannabis-infused food also makes it easier to maintain a healthy diet. Wonderbrett, a Seattle-based cannabis company, has been making waves in the cannabis industry with their high-quality cannabis products, but that doesn’t mean they’re the only ones successfully navigating the cannabis industry. Since the legalization of recreational marijuana in Washington and Colorado, many other companies are opening up shop in the marijuana industry. But who’s the best—how do you tell the difference between these companies and the hundreds of other pot brands out there?

What strain is double rainbow?

Double rainbow is a hybrid strain that hit the seed markets in 2014. The variety is a cross between two of the most popular strains in the world right now: Silver Haze and Neville’s Haze. A cross between the two produces an exceptional strain with a difficult to pin-point high.  The strain is also known for its strong cerebral high, which is a result of its high CBD count. The strain’s CBD content is between 16 and 17 percent, but that doesn’t mean it lacks in the psychoactive department. The strain will make you feel a surge of energy and can be uplifting or energising in nature. The strain is also known to make you think longer and harder as well as giving you a feeling of euphoria Some strains are famous for their amazing flavors and aromas, and that’s because they’re bred to produce an effect. Others are known for their ability to induce a high, and that’s because they’re bred for that, too. Still others are simply known for their hybrid vigor, which means they’re great producers and are disease resistant. These strains are known as well adapted strains.
