The Grover Beach City Council has voted 3-1 to approve cannabis consumption lounges within city limits. That means that the four existing cannabis dispensaries can begin planning for on-site cannabis use areas.
One major concern for city leaders and members of the community was odor. To address that, the ordinance includes a requirement for absorbing ventilation and exhaust systems to prevent odors from seeping into adjacent properties.
A number of other California cities now allow cannabis consumption lounges, including West Hollywood and San Francisco. But Grover Beach is one of the first cities on the Central Coast to welcome these businesses.
